LOS ANGELES — Ray J has made a jaw-dropping claim that has the internet divided between laughter, concern, and outright disbelief. The singer and reality TV star says he has slept with approximately 12,500 women. And he’s not done yet.
“I had about 400 or 500 girls that came through, supported,” Ray J said in a recent interview with Cam Newton. “It was a massive parade.”
When Cam asked for clarification, Ray J doubled down. “These are 10,000 different people. It’s at like 12,500 now.” He even revealed that he threw a “Booby Trap” celebration when he hit the 10,000 mark.

Cam Newton tried to do the math. For Ray J to reach that number, he’d need to be with more than one new woman every single day for 30 years straight. But Ray J wasn’t having it. He argued that when he’s on tour, he sees five to ten women a day. So the math adds up – at least in his head.
Then he took it even further. Ray J claimed some of his friends are doing way more – like 45,000 people a year. That’s over 120 people per day. When Cam asked how that’s even possible, Ray J shrugged: “Brothels and stuff like that.”
The internet immediately cried foul. Where is the footage, Ray? In 2026, you can’t go to the grocery store without someone posting a TikTok. But 500 ex-partners allegedly showed up to a party celebrating his 10,000th conquest, and not a single clip exists? Did he make 500 people sign NDAs just to eat cake?
But here’s where things get even stranger. Ray J recently claimed he has a serious heart condition. “My heart is only beating like 25%,” he said. He’s also posted concerning messages on social media, including: “If it wasn’t for my kids, I would jump off and end tonight.” Another post read: “Trying to figure it out. Maybe this life was an illusion.”
So how does a man with months to live, according to his own warnings, find time to break world records in the bedroom? Either he’s counting bodies while counting down days, or something else is going on.
Ray J has had a tumultuous year. He was arrested in Los Angeles after Princess Love accused him of pulling a gun on people in the house with their kids present. Bail was set at $50,000. He also went live on Instagram claiming someone was trying to take his children, then Princess walked into frame and the situation escalated rapidly.
In another bizarre episode, Ray J posted video of himself hitchhiking across the United States, begging fans for food and a place to stay on his journey from Tampa to Los Angeles. Then he appeared in a casino, down to his last $800, playing slot machines because someone told him that’s what you do when you’re nearly broke – gamble to win it back.
He has also reignited his feud with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, claiming they were involved in serious crimes and that the case against them would be “worse than Diddy.” He insists the infamous 2003 sex tape was consensual, and that Kim herself pushed for Kris to oversee its release in 2006.

So is Ray J losing it? Or is this all a calculated act?
In the same interview where he dropped the 12,500 number, Ray J admitted something telling. He called his wild antics “strategy moments” – designed to create success for himself and those around him. He noted that his drama with Cam’ron and Mase coincided perfectly with his sister Brandy’s album becoming a number one best-seller.
“Nobody goes to the comments to look at a bunch of good comments,” Ray J said. “You want to be where it’s at. You want to see what they’re really saying.”
He told Cam Newton that he needs to set a presence to get back to work. And in the attention economy, a wild claim about sleeping with 12,500 women ensures that when he launches his next business venture – like the Gang Up project – everyone is already watching.
“I don’t mind if people don’t take me seriously as long as they are entertained,” he admitted.
But there’s another theory making the rounds. Some fans suspect Ray J is using these astronomical numbers to overcompensate for a DL (down low) lifestyle. When someone claims to have slept with 12,500 women – roughly one and a half new partners every single day for 30 years – it starts to sound less like reality and more like a loud, defensive cover story.
During a previous interview, someone asked him directly: “Are you gay?” Ray J danced around the question. “Why does it matter if I’m gay or not?” he responded. When pressed, he eventually said, “Shout out to the gay community. Yes.” Then quickly added, “Do you feel attacked?”
The math still isn’t mathing for most people. Five to ten women per day on tour leaves little time for soundchecks, eating, or sleeping. And 45,000 partners per year for his friends? That’s not a bender; that’s a biological impossibility.
So what’s the truth? Ray J says he has only room for about a thousand more before he’s done. He’s also said he might only have months to live. Whether this is a midlife crisis, a branding genius at work, or a man truly unraveling remains unclear.

But one thing is certain: Ray J has everyone talking. And as he put it himself, that’s exactly where he wants to be.
