The Last Climb
The storm was coming fast over the mountain. Dark clouds rolled across the sky as Mark hurried along the narrow path. The wind howled between the rocks.
Suddenly, a loud roar echoed through the valley.
A huge bear rushed out of the trees.
Mark grabbed a stick and tried to scare it away, shouting and waving his arms. The bear attacked. Mark fought with all his strength, striking and dodging, but the animal was too powerful.
They struggled on the edge of a steep cliff.
With one final desperate push, Mark forced the bear back—but the ground beneath them cracked. For a second, everything was silent.
Then both the man and the bear fell into the dark valley below.
The mountain returned to silence, as if nothing had happened.
