The release of documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein continues to generate global attention. Politicians, celebrities, academics, and members of royalty have appeared in various records, photographs, and flight logs contained within the so-called “Epstein Files.”
Among the newly circulated images is a photograph of the late Professor Stephen Hawking, prompting renewed discussion online.
It is important to note from the outset: being mentioned in the documents or appearing in a photograph does not, in itself, indicate wrongdoing.
The Newly Circulated Image
One image that has gained traction on social media shows Hawking seated on a sun lounger beside two women wearing bikinis. He appears relaxed, holding a drink and smiling.
Details surrounding the photograph — including its exact date and location — remain unclear. The identities of the women in the image have not been publicly confirmed.
Hawking, who passed away in 2018, was widely regarded as one of the most influential theoretical physicists of his generation. His appearance in the document release has therefore drawn particular attention.

Hawking’s Connection to Epstein
Public records confirm that Hawking visited the U.S. Virgin Islands in March 2006 to attend a scientific conference funded by Jeffrey Epstein. The event reportedly brought together a number of prominent scientists for academic discussions.
Other images included in previously released materials show Hawking attending gatherings on Little Saint James, Epstein’s private island. In some photographs, he is seen at social events, including a barbecue. In another widely discussed image, he appears inside a specially adapted submarine designed to accommodate his wheelchair, reportedly allowing him to experience underwater exploration.
Again, attendance at such events has not been presented as evidence of criminal activity.
The Email Reference
According to media reports, a 2015 email allegedly sent by Epstein to associate Ghislaine Maxwell referenced Hawking in the context of addressing certain claims. The email suggested offering a reward to individuals who could help refute allegations circulating at the time.
The message reportedly mentioned a claim involving Hawking; however, there has been no verified evidence linking him to illegal conduct. Importantly, Virginia Giuffre — one of Epstein’s most prominent accusers — did not directly accuse Hawking of wrongdoing.
To date, no charges or formal accusations were brought against the late physicist in relation to the Epstein case.
Context Matters
The broader document release has highlighted how many high-profile individuals crossed paths with Epstein over the years — often in professional or social settings — before the full scope of his criminal activities became widely known.
Legal experts continue to emphasize a critical distinction:
Appearing in records, photographs, or travel logs does not automatically imply involvement in criminal behavior.
As more materials become public, scrutiny remains high. But so does the need for careful interpretation.
The ongoing release of Epstein-related documents continues to raise questions and spark debate worldwide. As always, responsible discussion requires separating documented fact from speculation.
