I was so excited to marry my fiancé. I loved him deeply and truly thought he was the love of my life. But days before our wedding, things went downhill fast. We had been arguing all week when he told me he didn’t have enough money for proper wedding clothes. I thought everything was already handled, so that turned into another big argument.
On our wedding day, he showed up wearing jeans and a tank top. I was heartbroken.
Before the ceremony, his brother went home to grab extra decorations and my fiancé asked me to go along. In the car, I broke down crying about the arguing and what he wore. His brother comforted me, and it surprisingly helped. When we got back to the house, I hugged him to say thank you. He smiled, I kissed him… and I ended up cheating on my fiancé before our wedding.
The guilt was immediate. When we returned, I told my fiancé the truth. He didn’t argue—he just walked away.
The wedding was canceled. Everything was ruined. And I know I messed up.
